Nani Gutiérrez was born in Santiago de Chile, where she studied visual arts at the Universidad de Chile.
In her videos she explores how subjective positions differ from reality and influence knowledge structures, as in the video installation ACCEDER, in which she recalls the failures of the Chilean bureaucratic system after the tsunami disaster in 2010. Her work has been shown at the Ars Electronica Festival and at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago de Chile (MAC). She also performs live audiovisual shows with experimental electronic music composer Hainbach at venues such as Kantine am Berghain and Barbican Hall.
