We are delighted to share the success of a wonderful two-day event we recently hosted in our studio in Berlin, in collaboration with University of Leiden and their PhDArts program. This gathering brought together PhD candidates, as well as those exploring potential PhD opportunities, to present their innovative research in art and design.

It was an enriching experience, where Prof. Berit Greinke, Prof. Gesche Joost, and Prof. Albert Lang led the discussions, alongside PhD candidates like Johannes Pointner, Max Seger, and many more. The atmosphere was filled with collaborative energy as we exchanged constructive feedback and explored new possibilities for future partnerships.

The PhDArts program, under the guidance of Suzanne Knip at University of Leiden, offers a unique approach to research-in-art. This research method, where art and design practices are deeply intertwined with the research itself, allows for an open and speculative trajectory. The final outcome combines both an artistic product and a dissertation, emphasizing the dynamic relationship between artistry, research methods, and results.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to the event. It was a fantastic opportunity to foster dialogue, explore collaborative paths, and celebrate the intersections of art, design, and research.

Here’s to many more such inspiring gatherings in the future! 🌟
