Sena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media Informatics from the Technical University of Berlin and the Free University of Berlin. She investigates the intersections of technology and politics with a focus on digital forensics, medial aesthetics, archival practices, and anti-colonial approaches. Her research focuses on topics of migration, surveillance, identity politics and collective (re)action. She has a particular interest in integrating visual media, such as film and video, into her work to critically engage with these topics.
Sena's projects critically examine the socio-political implications of emerging technologies, from data-driven urban simulations to the datafication of voice in migration contexts. Her recent installation with Manuel Sinn, _COMMON GROUND_, exhibited at Ars Electronica 2024, explores spatial displacement and collective ownership through interactive simulation and video work. Currently pursuing research on voice biometrics and border listening, she investigates how sonic datafication and algorithmic governance is implemented in Germany's exclusionary border regime.
